Lisa J. Marks is talented and experienced in identifying and connecting with executive leaders. Over the past decade, she has served as a proven catalyst in the success of some of the country’s most significant executive searches and has built highly regarded national recruiting practices.
Formerly a Chief Executive Officer of an international nonprofit, Lisa provides valued insights into organizational structure and operational systems and is skilled in many areas including negotiations, compliance, advancement, and fundraising. She is a trusted advisor whose broad business knowledge allows her to work and effectively recruit talent across multiple industries and with a wide spectrum of personalities.
She is a credible subject matter expert in searches involving higher education, advancement and fundraising, foundations, and not-for-profit enterprises. Lisa’s curiosity, ability to learn quickly and synthesize new information, as well as the strength of her unique search process are the hallmarks of her success in various sectors. She has conducted numerous senior-level executive searches and guided organizational development within public and private higher education, Oil & Gas, EPC, healthcare, nonprofit, energy, engineering, construction, technology, and hospitality services.
Lisa has a passion for and commitment to lifelong learning. Her undergraduate emphases in music, international relations, and intercultural communications at the University of Missouri led to subsequent studies in leadership, strategy, and management at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business Executive MBA Program. She is a member of the Michigan Small Business Association, the Great Lakes Women’s Business Council, and sits on the Leadership Council for the National Small Business Association. Lisa has a long history of service through community and emergency planning, mentoring, and international student exchange. In her free time, Lisa enjoys singing, photography, road trips with her ’72 Travelall and ’64 Shasta, and hiking the shores of Lake Superior.
